Experience
Our New Parent Baby Essentials Experience is a new service, offered on the first Wednesday of the month for new parents and parents-to be. It allows families to book an in person appointment and come and choose the items they might need to for their new arrival, from hospital bags for mum to a buggy for their newborn.
What is the New Parent Baby Essentials Experience?
This special in-person event is designed exclusively for parents-to-be and first-time parents with babies aged 3 months and under. We understand that stepping into parenthood can feel overwhelming, especially when it's hard to know exactly what you'll need for your little one. This welcoming and supportive hour-long appointment will allow you to choose the essential items you'll need, with the help from our friendly team. Families can access a wide range of essential resources, including clothing, baby equipment, nappies, toiletries, buggies, and other necessities for their babies. Items are a mixture of brand new and preloved in excellent condition. To be eligible, families must be first-time expectant parents in their third trimester and first-time parents with babies aged 3 months and under.
How do families get referred?
Families need to be referred by a professional. The professional (who we call our "Referral Partner") must also be registered with us. Once they are registered, the Referral Partner will complete a New Parent Baby Essentials Experience referral form. Once the form has been completed, they will book a New Parent Baby Essentials Appointment which is an hour long and will take place at our hub in Barnet, EN5.
When can families be referred?
This is a year-round service so families can be referred at any time. Please note we hold these sessions on the first Wednesday of the month and we expect them to get booked up very quickly. Appointments will be on a first come, first served basis and can be booked once the New Parent Baby Essentials Experience referral form has been submitted.

How many times can families be referred?
Families can only be referred for New Parent Baby Essentials Experience once. However, if after 4 months they still need support, they can be referred to our Essentials Support programme, up to a maximum of 3 times.

Is there an option for a prepacked collection?
No, if the family would prefer a prepacked collection instead of an in person experience, please refer them to our Essentials Support programme instead. They will still be able to get the same items, but the items will be carefully packed by our volunteers instead.
